The Dom Hotel, Cologne, set right in the centre of town, overlooking the Gothic cathedral, is a contemporary residence housed in a refurbished historic building. The 124 guestrooms feature contemporary decor in bright, warm colours, and are equipped with flat screen plasma televisions with cable channels, high speed and wireless Internet connections, minibars, desks and safes. Black Italian marble clad bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries.
Le M�rou is a contemporary restaurant with burnt ochre, bright red and light wood decor, offering seafood dishes and views of the cathedral. After dinner, guests can head to the Sir Peter Ustinov Bar, a modern lounge decorated with photographs of the famous actor, serving traditional and house speciality cocktails.
The Dom Hotel, Cologne serves ice creams on the Lido Terrace in summer where guests can relax and which offers panoramic views over the cathedral. Regional and high speed European network trains serve the airport. Taxis are readily available outside Terminals 1 and 2. Airport shuttles are available to/from Cologne and Bonn every 15 minutes during the week, and every 30 minutes at the weekend. All transport facilities (bus, tram, tube and the RE (RegionalExpress), RB (RegionalBahn) and S (S Bahn) trains) can be used with compound tickets, which are issued by the Verkehrsverbund Rhein Sieg (VRS). Besides these there are train only tickets. Ticket vending machines at Cologne's train stations issue both kinds of tickets. At tram/tube/bus stations, only compound tickets (VRS) are available. The city can also be explored on foot.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A59/559 towards K�ln city centre. Follow signs for the Severinsbr�cke, cross the bridge and take the second exit, signposted Nord S�d Fahrt. Follow the middle lane and pass through the tunnel. Turn right at the sign for Dom/Hauptbahnhof and follow the parking signs for Dom/Rhein. The covered car park is directly under Cathedral Place.
